Tennessee football is in the midst of a critical recruiting stretch. The Vols and the rest of the country are hosting top prospects for official visits in the hopes of reeling in targets in the class of 2027.
Last weekend, this included the hosting of four-star linebacker recruit Frederrick Ford. He is considered the No. 192 player in the class by 247. He is also considered the No. 13 linebacker and No. 6 player from the state of Mississippi. He plays for Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Mississippi.
Along with his trip to see UT, Ford also took official visits to Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Florida State. He will be at LSU this weekend. He is also considering an offer from Michigan that just came in at the beginning of the month.

More From RTI: Tennessee Football Commit Returned to Knoxville for Official Visit Last Weekend
Ford’s primary recruiter is linebackers coach William Inge. He’s also been in contact with new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles and head coach Josh Heupel.
This isn’t his first time visiting Tennessee, either. He was just in town on March 31 for a spring visit to get a look at the Vols. UT offered him this past Feburary, as well.
Tennessee currently holds 16 commitments in the class of 2027. This features a pair of linebackers, including the recent flip of four-star Kenneth Simon II from Alabama and three-star JP Peace. Both are legacy recruits whose dads were teammates at UT in the early 2000s.
The class currently ranks as the No. 36 unit in the country, according to 247. More commitments are expected to roll in, as well, which could boost the ranking.
