Louisville transfer right-handed pitcher Parker Detmers committed and signed with Tennessee baseball out of the transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reported Wednesday.

Injuries have seriously plagued Detmers through the first three years of his college career. He began the 2025 season as Louisville Saturday starter but made just four starts before undergoing Tommy John surgery. The recovery from the elbow surgery cost Detmers the entirety of the 2026 season.

Before suffering the injury in his sophomore season, Detmers posted a 1-1 record, 3.94 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 16 innings pitched. He struck out 15 batters while walking just four batters.

The right-handed pitcher has two years of college eligibility remaining but is also eligible for this summer’s MLB Draft. After not pitching most of the last two years, Detmers stock is not high entering this year’s draft.

Detmers has a connection to Tennessee. The right-handed pitcher attended Glenwood High School in Illinois— the same high school that Tennessee pitcher Cam Appenzeller attended.
