Former Tennessee outfielder Hunter High committed to Jacksonville State baseball out of the transfer portal on Sunday, he announced on his X (Twitter) account.
High spent the first three years of his college career at Tennessee, starting one game and playing in 40 as a program glue guy. He hit .343 with two home runs, three doubles and 10 RBIs in 35 career at-bats. A Nashville native, High hit a home run in Tennessee’s 2025 season-opening win over Hofstra and hit a game-ending home run against Belmont in what proved to be the final at-bat of his Tennessee career.
“I’m indescribably grateful for my time at Tennessee,” High wrote after entering the transfer portal. “It has been a dream come true to put on the orange and white and represent this university for the last three years. I am incredibly excited for what the Lord has in store.”
High committed to a Jacksonville State program that is coming off a conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance this past season. The Gamecocks posted a 48-15 (23-7 CUSA) record before losing in the Charlottesville Region final against Little Rock.
