The traditional three-stripe logo for Adidas will always be one of the more iconic and easily identifiable logos in the country. It’s simple, sleek, and easy to spot.
But for those wondering if Adidas’ old-school trefoil logo will be on anything following the rebrand, you’re in luck.
Danny White confirmed on social media Thursday that the old-school Adidas logo will be featured in the new rollout. While it’s not directly said in the question or the answer, it’s fair to assume that we’re talking about merchandise with this specific logo. During Tennessee Athletics’ Adidas uniform teaser on Thursday morning, close-up shots of nine different uniforms featuring the traditional three-stripe logo were shown.

“A new logo was added in 1972, when adidas branched out from solely selling shoes and introduced apparel for the very first time,” Adidas writes on its website. “Enter the Trefoil, which was designed by a small, collaborative team of adidas leaders and a couple designers from a German creative agency. Inspired by florals, the new logo featured three leaf-shaped foils to stay consistent with adidas’ notoriety as the brand with the three stripes. Ever present, the 3-Stripes runs through the leaves.
“You’d find this adidas logo on clothing from 1972 and on shoes from 1976, onward—and since 2000, it became reserved for all Originals products to pay homage to the heritage of the brand.”
Tennessee is planning a multi-day rollout for its new Adidas sports uniforms next week. Until then, though, both sides released a nice tease on Thursday by showing VFL Peyton Manning in the Vols’ new orange home jersey.

Even in the wake of the popular World Cup, Adidas put Tennessee Athletics front and center on its United States homepage on Thursday. It’s a clear sign that the two sides have high hopes for each other and are all-in on the partnership moving forward.

Adidas-Tennessee merchandise will go live in stores and online on July 10. We’ll know much more about the usage of the old-school trefoil logo at that time.
