The college baseball transfer portal is officially closed with the calendar turning from June to July this week. Eighteen Tennessee players entered the transfer portal this offseason after serving in various roles during the 2026 season.

Shortstop Manny Marin was the only full-time starter to enter the transfer portal while part-time starter Jay Abernathy also entered the portal. There were bench players like Ariel Antigua and Nate Eisfelder who entered as well as Brayden Krenzel and Chris Newstrom who left the Tennessee program after disappointing sophomore seasons.

Then there was a large group of young players who had minimal roles last season and transferred for a clearer path to playing time next season.

In total, 11 position players, six pitchers only and one two-way player entered the transfer portal in June. Four players landed in the SEC, three landed in the Big 12, two landed in the ACC, one landed in the Big 10 and three landed in smaller conferences. Five transfers have yet to commit to new schools.
