This South Carolina Fan is Not Happy That Tennessee’s Uniform Showcase Was So Much Better Than the Gamecocks’ Reveal

Competition in the SEC goes far beyond the gridiron, the hardwood, or the diamond. It extends all the way out to July uniform reveals.

Tennessee and South Carolina aren’t arch rivals, but there’s plenty of history between the two schools. Both the Vols and the Gamecocks switched their uniform providers this month, with Tennessee moving from Nike to Adidas and South Carolina switching from Under Armour to Nike.

But one South Carolina fan isn’t all that happy with his program after seeing the massive, week-long rollout that Tennessee has done with Adidas this week.

A Twitter post from Message Board Geniuses on Thursday reveals a message board post that a user wrote to Gamecock247: “How come Tennessee gets these cinematic/awesome uniform reveals, while we barely got an announcement and a couple of still pictures of the new Nike uniforms??? Tennessee/Adidas has now released reveals for their home and away uniforms, with more stuff coming.”

More From RTI: Tennessee Athletics Reveals Full Set of New Summitt Blue Uniforms

Tennessee has dominated the uniform reveal scene this week. The Vols are in the midst of a four-day release timeline, with each day revealing a new color: Monday/Orange, Tuesday/White, Wednesday/Summitt Blue, and Thursday/Dark Mode. Each sport was given its own well-produced hype video to release each morning, which was accompanied by multiple pictures and graphics about the new uniforms.

Through Wednesday, Tennessee Athletics has released more than 20 different uniform reveal videos and countless more pictures. UT’s rollout has consistently put the Vols and Lady Vols’ new threads all over social media. And with the amount of coverage that each day has gotten, it’s felt like Tennessee is the talking point when it comes to uniforms this month.

South Carolina’s reveal was underwhelming in comparison. In fairness to the Gamecocks, though, most reveals this month have been. The Gamecocks posted a big hype video when their Nike deal went official on July 1, and followed it up with different pictures and graphics highlighting their new threads.

But it wasn’t anywhere near the scale of what Tennessee has done with its multi-day rollout.

Chalk this up as another win for Tennessee’s impressive social media and video production teams. Not only did Tennessee get its uniforms right, but they’ve dominated the week with a slow burn of rollouts for the fans. And they’ve gotten under the skin of opposing team’s fans.
