With the class of 2027 a priority, recruiting efforts across the country are also extending to the upcoming 2028 and 2029 classes. For Tennessee football, this has featured extending offers to priority targets.

One of the latest to pick up an offer from the Vols is wide receiver Zach Williams. He announced that UT’s wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator, Kelsey Pope, extended the offer after a conversation with the rising sophomore.

Williams also holds offers from Arizona, BYU, Baylor, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Houston, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Miami, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Purdue, SMU, Syracuse, TCU, Texas A&M, Utah, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and more.

247 lists Williams at just 5-foot-8, 160 pounds, but he has plenty of time to grow and bulk up before he’ll be starting his college career. His production so far speaks for itself, as well. He was named a National Freshman All-American by both Rivals and MaxPreps.

In 2025, he recorded 1,173 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on 78 receptions, according to 247. This came on Dallas Bishop Lynch in Texas. Now, he will play for Allen High School in Allen, Texas.

So far, Tennessee does not hold any commitments in the 2029 or 2028 classes. However, the Vols are building up the 2027 class with multiple big targets still on the board. At this point, the class features 16 commitments after a busy summer. The group ranks as the No. 43 class in the nation and No. 14 in the SEC on 247.
