This past week, Tennessee Athletics rolled out its new adidas uniforms across multiple sports. This included Vols football, which showcased orange, white and Dark Mode uniforms.
With the majority of photos featuring white pants with the orange and white uniforms, some are wondering if orange britches will return with adidas.
It seems the answer is yes. In a post after the orange jerseys were revealed, Edwin Spillman is seen with orange pants on, indicating they will be a part of the uniform sets going forward.

“We appreciate adidas recognizing the power of the Tennessee brand and we are excited about the future of this transformative partnership,” Tennessee football head coach Josh Heupel said. “Both current and future Vols will benefit from this historic deal. adidas is providing us with world-class resources and apparel that will continue to push our brand to the forefront of college football for years to come. We can’t wait to showcase our adidas uniforms this fall.”
It appears UT will reveal more adidas gear, as well. After dropping its black uniforms, the official Tennessee football account teased more adidas reveals in a post on X.
Many fans have jumped to the natural conclusion of a Smokey Grey uniform. The Vols reintroduced Smokey Grey uniforms in 2022 and followed it up with a new alteration to the set under Nike every year through the 2025 season. Fueling the fire is a Smokey Grey square in the top right of the graphic, accompanied by orange, white and black.
Whether it’s a Smokey Grey jersey or another new adidas piece being revealed, there is no firm timeline for when it will be announced. UT had scheduled the reveal of the orange, white, Summitt Blue and black uniforms through Thursday, but did not set a date for any other sets.
