In just over a week, on July 22, five-star running back recruit David Gabriel Georges will announce his commitment. He is down to Tennessee football, Ohio State and Ole Miss, with the Vols and Buckeyes considered the favorite to land his pledge.

Last week, reports came out that Gabriel Georges had made up his mind on where he will attend. However, that doesn’t seem to be true. Gabriel Georges spoke with On3 insider and co-host of the RTI Low-Down, Chris Low, and said that he is still weighing his options.

“It’s hard,” Gabriel Georges said in the report. “You feel this way, like you know, and then it’s sort of 50-50. People will say the 22nd of July is far off, but honestly for me, it’s pretty close.”

According to 247 Composite, he is considered the No. 10 player in the class, No. 2 running back and the top player from the state of Tennessee. Though initially from Quebec, he currently lives in Chattanooga, where he plays for Baylor School.

Gabriel Georgies is being looked at as a generational prospect who could not just play, but start and make a big impact as a true freshman wherever he chooses. With his mind apparently not made up yet, Tennessee and Ohio State will continue to jockey for position ahead of his commitment date.

Even after his commitment, this race likely won’t be over, either. As most big-time recruiting battles go, it’s safe to expect the loser of the Gabriel Georges sweepstakes to stay in contact all the way until signing day in attempts to flip him.

Tennessee currently holds 16 commitments in the 2027 class. This ranks as the No. 43 group in the nation and No. 14 in the SEC on 247. The commitment of Gabriel Georges could help catapult the class up the board, though.
