What Tennessee Baseball’s 2027 Roster Looks Like Following The MLB Draft

The 2026 MLB Draft is in the rearview. MLB teams selected six Tennessee players, two transfer commits and five prep signees over the course of the 20-round draft and we are starting to have a much better feel for what Tennessee’s 2027 roster is going to look like.

Wright State outfielder Andrew Duncan will not sign with Pittsburgh after they selected him in the 19th round. The one big question remaining is whether South Carolina transfer Jake McCoy will sign with the Toronto Blue Jays after they selected him in the 18th round.

Not including McCoy, Tennessee currently has 36 players on its roster for the 2027 season. The NCAA baseball roster limit is 34 players. However, Tennessee has multiple designated student-athletes on its roster which will allow them to go over that limit. How far over? That is uncertain, but as things currently stand I do not expect Tennessee to have to cut players.

What does the Vols’ roster look like as of right now? Here’s a look.
