Former Tennessee defensive line commit Kadin Fife has found a new landing spot. Just under three weeks after backing off his pledge to Tennessee, Fife announced his commitment to Louisville football.
Fife originally committed to the Vols back November after he officially visited Tennessee for its SEC matchup against Oklahoma. But after taking multiple early summer official visits, Fife backed off his commitment to Josh Heupel and the Vols.
Ironically, Fife did not take an official visit to Louisville earlier this summer. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound defensive lineman’s three official visits were to Ole Miss, Georgia and Tennessee.
Fife ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 390 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. He also ranks as the No. 46 defensive lineman in the 2027 recruiting cycle and the No. 19 player in the state of Alabama.

The low four-star recruit is transferring schools for his high school senior season. Fife played his junior year at Chattooga High School in Summerville, Georgia before transferring to Cherokee County in Centre, Alabama for his senior season. While they are in different states, the two schools are just approximately 30 miles from one another.
Louisville is entering its fourth season under head coach Jeff Brohm. The former Louisville quarterback has built the Cardinals into one of the most consistent programs in the ACC, posting a 28-12 record over the previous three seasons. The Cardinals have won either nine or 10 wins in each season as Brohm looks to turn them into a College Football Playoff team.
Fife is the 16th commit in Louisville’s 2027 recruiting class that now ranks No. 50 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
Tennessee’s 2027 recruiting class currently boasts 16 commitments but from only one defensive linemen— JUCO standout Christian Mays. The Vols’ 16-commit recruiting class currently ranks No. 43 nationally and No. 14 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
