Four-star shooting guard Justin Wise released is down to six schools including Tennessee basketball, Rivals’ Joe Tipton first reported. Clemson, Georgia, Miami, Texas and Vanderbilt joined Tennessee in Wise’s top group.
Wise ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 63 player in the 2027 recruiting class according to 247sports. He also ranks as the No. 5 shooting guard nationally and No. 8 player in the state of Georgia. Rivals is even higher on Wise, ranking him as the No. 29 player and No. 4 shooting guard in the country. Wise also ranks as the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia.
The 6-foot-4, 175-pound shooting guard is a standout at North Oconee High School where he helped lead the Titans to a 26-4 record during his junior season.

Wise has yet to take a visit to Tennessee but the Vols could still schedule a fall official visit with the four-star guard. Wise has taken two unofficial visits to Georgia, one unofficial to Clemson and one official visit to Texas. He’s also already schedule a September official visit to Texas.
Tennessee has just one official visit scheduled for this fall to date. Five-star wing Malachi Jordan plans on officially visiting the Vols on Sept. 26— the same weekend that the football team hosts Texas at Neyland Stadium.
The Vols are also in the top group for instate three-star Davis Cochran. They hosted four-star shooting guard RJ Moore and four-star shooting guard Chase Lumpkin on unofficial visits last fall.
The Vols have just two players on their roster for this upcoming season that are definitively out of eligibility so they will have at least two scholarships available. However, that number will almost certainly increase with potential NBA Draft prospects and other players potentially entering the transfer portal.
