The SEC released its official men’s basketball schedules for the upcoming 2026-27 basketball season on Monday morning. With it, Tennessee’s schedule is set as the Vols will play two games against Kentucky, Missouri and Vanderbilt while playing one game against the rest of the league.

Tennessee will open up its SEC slate on Jan. 2 against Vanderbilt in Knoxville. The Vols will face Vanderbilt again two months later, traveling to Nashville to face the Commodores in their regular season finale on March 6.

The challenge in the Vols’ schedule is relatively spaced out with the toughest stretch coming from Jan. 16 through Jan. 30 when they play four consecutive games versus Arkansas, at Kentucky, at Texas A&M and versus Florida.

The final two weeks of the season sees Tennessee play two of its hardest games with road trips to Texas and Vanderbilt. But the two home games around it are manageable games against South Carolina and Mississippi State.

Tennessee’s home slate is ripe with high level Saturday games including Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky and Alabama.

The Vols released their non conference schedule last week. Tennessee has home matchups against Michigan State and Florida State, a road trip to Purdue, a matchup against NC State in Nashville and either three or four games in the Players Era Tournament including the opener against Maryland.

Expectations are high for Barnes’ 12th Tennessee team. The Vols over went a major roster overhaul this offseason but brought in one of the nation’s very best transfer hauls including highly sought after transfers Juke Harris, Jalen Haralson, Terrence Hill Jr, Tyler Lundblade and others.
