Tennessee Makes Four-Star Running Back’s Top Three Ahead Of Commitment Date

Tennessee football made the top three for blue-chip running back Braylen Russell Thursday afternoon. The Vols joined Arkansas and South Carolina in Russell’s top group.

Russell is rapidly approaching his commitment date. The Benton, Arkansas running back will announce his college commitment on his birthday— July 14.

Russell ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 287 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-2, 240 pound bruiser ranks as the 24th best running back in the country and the No. 5 player in the state of Arkansas.

Russell has been to the home state school more than any other and was once committed to the Razorbacks before backing off his pledge. The four-star has taken five total visits to Fayetteville including three in the last season.

The big back is no stranger to Knoxville either. Russell has taken three total visits to Tennessee including an official visit last month. Russell has also visited South Carolina once using an official visit last month.

Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class currently contains 15 commitments including one running back: four-star Virginia native Peyton Lewis.

The Vols’ 15 commit recruiting class currently ranks 12th nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
