Charlotte transfer Igor Milicic Jr. committed to Tennessee basketball on Monday morning, CBS sports Jon Rothstein first report and a source confirmed to RTI. Milicic committed to Rick Barnes and his staff after taking visits to Nebraska, Tennessee and Baylor.
A 6-foot-10, 225-pound forward, Milicic played his freshman season at Virginia before transferring to Charlotte and playing two seasons for the 49ers. As a junior, Milicic averaged 12.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. He was an efficient scorer, shooting 49% from the field and made 56 three-pointers at a 38% clip.
Playing in the American Athletic Conference last season, Charlotte played three ranked teams. Milicic totaled eight points and six rebounds against Duke, 13 points and five rebounds against Florida Atlantic and eight points and five rebounds against South Florida.
Transfer portal rankings vary on Milicic. He’s unranked according to 247sports while EvanMiya.com ranks Milicic as a four-star transfer and the No. 189 player in the transfer portal.

While Milicic 6-foot-10 height makes him seem like a true five-man, the Croatia native is a true stretch four who has the ability to play the three and the five-spot. Milicic will likely compete for a starting position at the four-spot and could also be a valuable and versatile threat off the bench.
After losing both Jonas Aidoo and Tobe Awaka to the transfer portal earlier this offseason, Tennessee basketball added Ohio State transfer center Felix Okpara to pair with sophomore center JP Estrella.
Milicic is the third player that Tennessee basketball has added to its roster via the transfer portal this offseason alongside Ohio State center transfer Felix Okpara and Hofstra wing transfer Darlinstone Dubar.
The Vols have lost four different players to the transfer portal so far this offseason as well as three players to graduation. With one prep recruit and now two transfers coming in, the Vols have three scholarships to work with as Rick Barnes and his staff look to complete Tennessee’s roster ahead of the 2024-25 season.
