No visiting locker room in the SEC is considered good. It’s not supposed to be, though. It’s a place that’s meant to be a bit uncomfortable, cramped, and generally a bit tough to operate in. That’s one of the many components of home-field advantage, after all.
Just ask the conference’s coaches.
While at SEC Media Days, the SEC Network’s social media team went around and asked the conference coaches which stadium had the worst visiting locker room.
The answers were all pretty much the same.
Florida’s Billy Napier, Texas A&M’s Mike Elko, and Ole Miss’s Lane Kiffin all basically said that there’s not a single good one in the bunch, so there’s no point in picking one out. Georgia’s Kirby Smart said that every locker room in the conference, including their own, is “decrepit.”
Missouri’s Eli Drinkwitz knew his answer right away, though. He was the only coach in the video who specifically picked one out.
“The worst? It’s Tennessee,” Drinkwitz said in the video. “It’s not even close. Terrible.”

More From RTI: ‘Don’t Be Surprised’ If This Former Vol Turns Heads During Training Camp
While Drinkwitz picks Neyland Stadium as his worst visiting locker room, it’s also something that many Vol fans would probably be celebrating – you come in our house, your life gets miserable.
That’s the idea, anyway.
Tennessee makes the behind-the-scenes area tough, and Vol fans made the on-field environment a nightmare. And it’s paid off.
In the last three years, Tennessee has gone a blistering 20-1 in games at Neyland Stadium. Even when you add in Josh Heupel’s first season in 2021, the record still stands at an impressive 25-4, with three of those four total losses coming to ranked teams. Under Heupel, the Vols are undefeated at home against rivals Alabama, Florida, and Kentucky.
2024 Home Record: 7-0
2023 Home Record: 6-1
2022 Home Record: 7-0
2021 Home Record: 5-3
