As Tennessee football is putting the finishing touches on its already impressive 2026 recruiting class, it is also looking forward to the 2027 cycle.

With some priority targets already identified and three-star local and legacy linebacker J.P. Peace already committed, the Vols are off to a strong start. One name to know as far as a Tennessee target that the Vols have positioned themselves nicely for is edge rusher Krew Jones.

Jones is a four-star recruit who ranks as the No. 106 overall player in the country, according to Rivals industry rankings. He is the No. 16 edge rusher and top-ranked player out of Utah.

Jones recently released an updated top list of schools that he is focusing on at the moment. Tennessee made the cut along with Oklahoma, BYU, Ohio State, Nebraska, Oregon and USC. This list shaved off Florida State, Washington, Stanford, Texas A&M and UCLA from his previous list of his top 12.

The edge rusher currently plays at Ridgeline High School in Millville, Utah. Tennessee has never had a player from the state take the field for the program, but it did just land the commitment of Salesi Moa, a five-star athlete from Utah.

“Highly productive edge rusher and will be a four-year starter at Ridgeline,” 247 National Recruiting Analyst Greg Biggins wrote in March. “Has prototype size and athleticism for an edge rusher. Quick off the ball with a good first step, can dip and bend to get around the edge and shows off a really good spin move as well. Very physical player in everything he does, playing the run, taking on blocks and rushing the passer. Plays with heavy hands and knows how to use them. Has an advanced skill set with multiple moves and counters to go with a high motor. Tough kid as well and plays with an edge. High major Power 4 prospect, good enough to play for any school in the country.”

Tennessee’s current 2026 cycle contains 22 commitments after the commitment of Moa and decommitment of tight end Carson Sneed. This ranks as the No. 10 overall class in the country on 247.

The lone commitment of Peace in the 2027 class places UT at No. 26 in the early standings on 247.
