DraftKings promo code: NCAA Football Week 1 preview
Last weekend was just a bit of a teaser ahead of the first full slate of college football games for Week 1. Here are a few of the games we’re keeping our eye on:
No. 1 Texas vs. No. 3 Ohio State – Noon ET
Week 1 of Saturday games kicks off with a bang as No. 1 Texas heads to Columbus to take on No. 3 Ohio State. The reigning national champions will meet Heisman frontrunner Arch Manning in a noon affair that sets the table for an exciting afternoon of football. The Buckeyes open their season as ever-so-slight favorites at home against the Longhorns.
No. 24 Tennessee vs. Syracuse – Noon ET
How will the new-look Vols fare against the Orangemen in Atlanta? App State transfer quarterback Joey Aguilar won the starting gig and will be under center for Tennessee in Saturday’s affair, and while he will garner the majority of the attention, it will be intriguing to see how the Vols deploy their defense in Week 1. Tennessee enters as solid favorites.
No. 8 Alabama vs. Florida State – 3:30 p.m. ET
FSU skipper Mike Norvell’s quest to put FSU’s 2-10 season behind them begins with a top-shelf test: The Alabama Crimson Tide. Norvell brought in former UCF head coach Gus Malzahn to helm the offense, and with 15 new projected starters on the roster, the Seminoles get one of their toughest tests out of the way early in Alabama. Florida State are underdogs at home in the newly renovated Doak Campbell Stadium.
No. 9 LSU vs. No. 4 Clemson – 7:30 p.m. ET
Things heat up in the evening as these perennial playoff contenders clash in Death Valley. LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is coming off of a 4,000-yard season and has Heisman credentials of his own, and he’ll get the starting nod against Clemson on the road. He’ll face off against Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik, the third-year signal-caller who can do damage with his arm and his legs. Clemson holds a small edge at home.
