With a wealth of NCAA football games to watch this weekend, we’ve got our eye on a few that should make Saturday a special one:

No. 1 Texas vs. No. 3 Ohio State – Noon ET

The marquee game of the day on paper, Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns travel to Columbus, OH, to tangle with the Buckeyes. Defending national champs, Ohio State will do worlds for a repeat playoff appearance if they can take down the nation’s top team in Week 1. Ohio State are slight favorites.

No. 24 Tennessee vs. Syracuse – Noon ET

Say goodbye to Nico Iamaleave and hello to Joey Aguilar. Aguilar transferred from Appalachian State to join the Vols and will be making his first start at a neutral site contest against Syracuse. He tossed for 3,003 yards and 23 touchdowns last season. The Vols enter as strong favorites on the road.

No. 8 Alabama vs. Florida State – 3:30 p.m. ET

This tilt features two coaches who have a bit to prove with their new programs. Kalen DeBoer’s Crimson Tide finished 9-4 in his first season as head coach, snapping a 16-year streak of double-digit finishes. FSU skipper Mike Norvell fared even worse, steering the Seminoles to a dreadful 2-10. They’ll meet at Doak Campbell Stadium Saturday afternoon, where each coach hopes to start 2025 in the win column. Alabama is favored.

No. 9 LSU vs. No.4 Clemson – 7:30 p.m. ET

These two powerhouse programs have only met four times in their history, with the LSU Tigers holding a 3-1 advantage. They last met in the National Championship in 2019, where LSU took home a 42-25 win. Clemson are slight favorites at home.
