The dawn of a new season is here as Tennessee football opens up its 2025 campaign against Syracuse on Saturday afternoon in Atlanta.

ESPN‘s College Gameday is in Columbus to begin the season as the defending national champion Buckeyes host top-ranked Texas in an epic season-opening showdown. It’s a special College Gameday because it’s Lee Corso’s final show.

In Atlanta, both Tennessee and Syracuse are looking to get off to strong starts to the season after replacing an abundance of production from a season ago. The Vols went 10-3 (6-2 SEC) and made it to the College Football Playoffs a season ago. Syracuse exceeded all expectations in Fran Brown’s first season, posting a 10-3 (5-3 ACC) record.

The college gameday all picked Tennessee to win with the Lee Corso taking the Vols on his final show.

As of Saturday morning, Tennessee is 13.5-point favorites against Syracuse according to the DKSportsbook. The over/under is set at 51.5. Kickoff between Tennessee and Syracuse is at noon ET. Bob Wischusen, Louis Riddick and Kris Budden are on the call for ABC.

Here’s how the ESPN College Gameday crew predicts Tennessee’s opener against Syracuse to go.
