KNOXVILLE, TN – Rocky Top Insider is proud to announce the addition of yet another show to the RTI podcast platform. We are equally excited to announce that this show will feature one of college football’s most preeminent and well-sourced writers, Chris Low.
Chris will be teaming up with RTI Co-founder Bob Baskerville to bring you ‘The RTI Low-Down’ on Sunday nights. Chris and Bob will share their thoughts on the previous Tennessee Football game from Saturday, in addition to discussing other interesting topics and notes from around the SEC and the college football landscape.
The video version of the show will be posted to YouTube, and the audio podcast can be found on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
“Having covered college sports for most of the past three decades, I’ve had a chance to host and appear on a wide array of shows with tons of great people,” Low said. “Doing one based in the Knoxville market is especially near and dear to my heart because it was the late John Ward, the beloved Voice of the Vols, who was my inspiration to get into the business. Joining up with Bob and his years of expertise will be a blast as we’ll break down all things Vols and the ever-changing world of college sports in minute detail and have some fun along the way.”
The inaugural episode of The RTI Low-Down will premiere on Sunday, Sept. 14. Bob and Chris will be breaking down the Tennessee-Georgia game and other intriguing storylines from Week 3 of the college football season.
“Getting not only breaking sports news, but thoughtful and insightful stories in the sports world from Chris Low has become common for all Vol and college sports fans…myself included, and I’m very excited to be able to work side by side with Chris and provide a platform for even more of that great work of his to reach Vol nation and countless other fanbases!” Baskerville said.
Low, a University of Tennessee alum, covered Tennessee athletics for The Tennessean in the 1990s and 2000s including Vol football’s greatest run in the modern era under Phillip Fulmer. Low has spent the last two decades covering the SEC for ESPN and becoming one of the leading voices covering the conference, breaking countless major stories, including Nick Saban’s retirement, in the nation’s top collegiate athletic conference. The North Carolina native made the move to On3 earlier this month to continue his career as a national college football reporter. Even as Low’s career expanded, his roots remained in East Tennessee. Low still lives in Knoxville and co-hosted The Nation on 99.1 The Sports Animal on Sunday nights over the last 21 years.
Rocky Top Insider co-founder Bob Baskerville grew up in Speedway, Indiana. Baskerville’s versatility and track record for success has afforded him a number of high-profile executive assignments in the media space, and he’s accumulated over 30 years of experience in broadcast and cable television. His love for sports has also extended to his professional life, having worked previously for ESPN, Turner Sports, and NBC Sports on NFL Football, Boxing, College Basketball, Pro Bowling, and various other sports. More recently, Baskerville hosted a weekday talk radio show called ‘Under Review’ on Fox Sports Knoxville. When not breaking things down on The RTI Low-Down on Sunday nights, Baskerville can be heard on ‘The Drive’ weekdays from 3-6 p.m. ET on 105.7 FM/1340 AM.
