Tennessee will look to stop an eight-game losing streak to the Bulldogs when the two rivals square off on Saturday.

This is a matchup that has typically taken place in the back half of the season schedule. In fact, Tennessee and Georgia’s meeting this Saturday will be the earliest game between the two in the last 30 years. That alone provides for intrigue and unpredictability as both teams try to start the conference slate with a victory.

With an eight-game win streak ongoing from Georgia, the Bulldogs currently lead the series with the Volunteers 29-23-2. This game has traditionally been a late-season matchup but will be played at its earliest date in 30 years this Saturday in Week 3.

This is the 34th consecutive year that Tennessee and Georgia have played annually, but it could be ending in 2026. We know that the SEC is moving to a nine-game conference schedule next season, which will feature three permanent in-conference opponents.
