Tennessee football is off to a terrific start on the offensive side of the ball. After marching down the field with speed on the first drive to take a 7-0 lead, the Vols’ defense let Georgia drive to tie it back up at seven a piece. By this point, Joey Aguilar had already thrown for 62 yards along with his four-yard rushing score.

However, when UT got the ball back needing a response, it got one in a big way. After a three-yard rush from DeSean Bishop to open the drive, Aguilar found Chris Brazzell for a 73-yard score. Brazzell ran past the man-to-man coverage with no help over the top. Despite Aguilar taking a second to find him and getting hit as he threw, it was enough to complete the pass.

This came despite a defensive pass interference. With the ball a bit underthrown, the Georgia defensive back was all over Brazzell to no avail. It ultimately gave Tennessee a 14-7 lead just over five minutes into the game.

The following drive, Tennessee’s defense came through and forced a three-and-out. This came despite a substitution penalty that gave Georgia a second chance on third down from just a few yards out.

The Vols got the ball back up a touchdown and took advantage. While they did get set back for third-and-long due to an intentional grounding, a defensive pass interference gave UT new life in Georgia territory. The result was another touchdown connection with Brazzell.

Through three drives, Aguilar had built a 21-7 lead for UT on 14-of-15 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns. This is the most points UT has scored on Georgia in an entire game since Josh Heupel got to campus as head coach.
