Tennessee basketball is preparing for another recruiting weekend as the Vols host a four-star target on an official visit. Four-star wing Bo Ogden is officially visiting Tennessee after including the Vols in his top six over the summer, a source told RTI.

Ogden released a top six back in July that included Gonzaga, Kansas, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. He took an official visit to Purdue in February and has an official visit scheduled to Virginia a week after his official visit to Tennessee basketball.

The 6-foot-5 wing ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 36 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Ogden also ranks as the No. 16 small forward and the No. 4 player in the state of Texas in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Tennessee has no shortage of ties to Ogden. His father, Chris, played for Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes at Texas and was then a longtime assistant for Barnes at Texas. Chris Ogden spent one year as an assistant coach at Tennessee before leaving for an assistant coach position under Chris Beard at Texas Tech before becoming head coach at UT Arlington.

That gives Bo Ogden familiarity with Barnes, Knoxville and the Tennessee program. But the negative for Tennessee is that Chris Ogden is now the General Manager for Texas basketball, assuming the role while Beard was head coach and maintaining his position through head coaching changes to Rodney Terry and now to Sean Miller.

A star at Austin’s Westlake High School, Bo Ogden spends an abundance of time around the Texas basketball program. Beating out Texas will be tough for any program in Ogden’s recruitment, but Tennessee possibly has the best chance to do so with Bo’s familiarity with the program.

Tennessee has been targeting a number of other wing recruits in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Four-star wing Ralph Scott visited Tennessee over the weekend and the Vols and Houston seem to be the favorites with visits to Purdue and Syracuse remaining this fall.

The Vols also have official visits scheduled with five-star Bryson Howard and four-star Manny Green scheduled for later this fall.

Barnes and his staff have yet to land a commitment in the 2026 recruiting cycle but are in on a number of highly-touted players and have begun a fall full of official visits. Five-star point guard Miles Sadler officially visited Tennessee two weekends ago before Scott and four-star power forward Latrell Allmond visited the Vols last weekend.

Tennessee also has official visits scheduled with five-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr, Howard, five-star forward Christian Collins Jr, Ogden, Green, four-star shooting guard Jasiah Jervis and four-star power forward Cody Peck for later this fall.

Rippey, Howard, Collins, Jervis and Peck are all currently scheduled to visit Tennessee the weekend of its exhibition matchup against Duke as part of a major recruiting weekend.
