
Four-star class of 2027 shooting guard Chase Lumpkin is unofficially visiting Tennessee basketball this weekend as the Vol football team hosts UAB at Neyland Stadium, a source told RTI Friday morning, Lumpkin’s weekend visit will be his first to Tennessee as the Vols look to make an early impression in his recruitment.
Lumpkin is one of two recruits that Tennessee basketball is hosting on visits this weekend. Four-star wing Bo Ogden is officially visiting this weekend as the Vols look to land the top 50 recruit with ties to Rick Barnes and his staff.
Lumpkin ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 57 player in the 2027 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-4, 170-pound prospect ranks as the No. 5 shooting guard and the No. 7 player in the state of Georgia.

The blue-chip junior stars at McEachern High School in Atlanta. McEachern is one of the best prep programs in Georgia and has produced a number of college prospects including Rutgers’ Ace Bailey, Auburn’s Dylan Cardwell, Auburn’s Isaac Okoro and Auburn’s Sharife Cooper.
Tennessee basketball is still in the very early stages of the 2027 recruiting cycle. They hosted four-star shooting guard RJ Moore on a visit earlier this fall and also have unofficial visits scheduled with four-star shooting guard LJ Smith and five-star wing Gabe Nesmith for later this fall.
The Vols are primarily focused on the 2026 recruiting class where they’re in the midst of a run of fall official visits. Five-star point guard Miles Sadler, four-star wing Ralph Scott and four-star forward Latrell Allmond have all officially visited Tennessee to this point in the fall.
Tennessee also has official visits scheduled with five-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr, five-star wing Bryson Howard, five-star forward Christian Collins Jr, four-star wing Manny Green, four-star shooting guard Jasiah Jervis and four-star power forward Cody Peck for later this fall.
