After Tennessee football’s 56-24 win over UAB on Saturday, Vols head coach Josh Heupel handed out three game balls to standout players in the game. First, he gave the nod to safety Andre Turrentine. Then, he tossed it to nickelback Boo Carter before transitioning to safety Kaleb Beasley.
Turrentine is getting the ball after coming up with his first interception of the season. It’s also his third in three years with the Vols. He jumped a route in the early stage of the third quarter to force the turnover in UT territory.
The following possession, Carter forced a fumble. He finished the game with a great stat line, producing a team-high nine tackles with six solo efforts, along with a sack, three tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.
Scooping up that fumble in the third quarter was Kaleb Beasley. He snagged it and took it 23 yards to the end zone. He finished with four tackles.

Heupel went on to discuss the next challenge for Tennessee. The Vols will head to Starkville next Saturday for their first road game of the season. It’ll also be a chance to win their first SEC game after dropping the conference opener 44-41 to Georgia in overtime last week.
“It will take us being at our best,” Heupel said. “It will take us having an elite week of preparation, Monday through Friday, to just go be us on Saturday. Fight, scratch, claw, go compete and win one on the road.”
Kickoff in Starkville is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. ET and will air on SEC Network. Mississippi State enters the game at 4-0 and currently sits just outside the top 25. The Bulldogs have a signature win over Arizona State, but only own other wins against Southern Miss, Alcorn State and Northern Illinois.
Tennessee is 3-1 with the SEC loss to Georgia.
