The Tennessee Volunteers return to SEC play this weekend in a matchup against Mississippi State from Starkville, MS. The surprising Bulldogs will host the Vols in a white-out contest, which means that Tennessee will bring it’s signature shade of orange with all-orange uniforms to Davis Wade Stadium this weekend.
Tennessee is 3-1 on the season with wins over Syracuse, East Tennessee State, and UAB, but fell to Georgia in an overtime contest in Week 3. The Vols will be looking for their first SEC win in their first true road test against the Bulldogs.
Mississippi State, meanwhile, has burst out of the gate to a 4-0 start this season. The Bulldogs have beaten Southern Miss, Alcorn State, and Northern Illinois so far, but their biggest statement win of the season was a last-minute win over then-No. 12 Arizona State at home. Mississippi State will look to make it two Top 15 wins at home in the first five games of the season on Saturday.
