In the moments following Mississippi State quarterback Blake Shapen’s incomplete pass on fourth down, Tennessee flooded onto the field from the sideline in celebration. The UT social media team documented it and got some great quotes filled with emotion during the celebration.

This included Joshua Josephs, the Vols’ star edge rusher who scored a touchdown in the game, giving his thoughts on the cowbells in the stadium that were ringing throughout the contest.

“I was asking them why they not ringing their bells?,” Josephs said. “The Vols won. That’s what happened to those bells. The Vols won.”

The locker room scene was also caught on camera. Head coach Josh Heupel gives plenty of praise to Josephs, Colton Hood and Tyre West, who were responsible for the turnovers that resulted in touchdowns.

He got serious to preview the upcoming week of work before heading back to Knoxville, as well.

“Bye week is a work week when it’s time to work,” Heupel said. “We got to get healed up and we got to get better to go be our best. We got a chance to be a great team. We have to make the choices that make the difference to do that.”

Tennessee has an open date before a home clash against Arkansas. Last year, the Vols fell to the Razorbacks in Fayetteville, but the wheels are seemingly starting to fall off for them this year.

Arkansas was boat raced by Notre Dame on Saturday, just after losing to Memphis. It will also have a bye week before it hits Neyland Stadium on Oct. 11 with a kickoff time and TV designation yet to be announced.
