Four-star wing Bo Ogden is announcing his college commitment Tuesday, LeagueRDY’s Sam Kayser first reported Monday afternoon. Ogden is choosing between a top three of Purdue, Tennessee and Texas.

The 6-foot-5 wing ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 36 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Ogden also ranks as the No. 16 small forward and the No. 4 player in the state of Texas in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound wing is making his decision fresh off official visits to Texas last weekend and Tennessee the week before.

“I just really like the coaching staff,” Ogden told RTI about his Tennessee visit. “It feels like a family. It was a really good time. I really enjoyed it.”

Family could play a serious role in Ogden’s recruitment. His father, Chris, is currently the General Manager at Texas basketball and played for the Longhorns when Rick Barnes was head coach. Chris Ogden was on staff at Tennessee for a year under Barnes.

Bo and his family lived in Knoxville two years after his dad left for Texas Tech because of how much they loved the area. He described Rick Barnes as a “grandfather” figure following his official visit with Tennessee and clearly has an abundance of comfort with the Volunteer program. Ogden was also insistent that he would not choose Texas just because of his father.

“It’s tough. It’s tough. A lot of people just think that (I’m going to go to Texas),” Ogden said. “But I’m going to make my decision. Like my dad said, I can make my decision with what I feel like is best for me. I would never just go there because my dad’s there or anything like that. It’s tough when people think that.”

While Purdue is in the top three, this feels like it’s truly a top two between Tennessee and Texas. With Ogden announcing his commitment so quickly after the Texas visit, the Longhorns are the clear favorite to land the blue-chip wing.

Tuesday could be a busy day for Tennessee basketball recruiting. Four-star wing Ralph Scott, who visited Tennessee the weekend of the Georgia football game, is also announcing his college commitment on Tuesday afternoon.

Scott is down to a top four that includes Houston, Purdue, Tennessee and Texas A&M. But Scott’s recruitment feels like it’s down to Houston and Tennessee.
