We’re just a month away from Lady Vols basketball entering year two in the Kim Caldwell Era. As the offseason begins to come to a close and game action is nearing, a pair of players met with the media on Thursday. Senior forward Zee Spearman and Kaiya Wynn both gave their thoughts on where the team is at in a press conference.
Spearman enters year two at Tennessee after transferring in from Miami. In her first season, she averaged 11.7 points per game to go with six rebounds. She shot 51.5% from the field and showed the ability to stretch the floor, as well. Now, she’ll be looked at as a reliable option to score at the rim and a threat at 6-foot-4 in the press on defense.
Wynn is entering her fifth year with the Lady Vols, but was sidelined due to an Achilles tear all of last season. She was a part of the recruiting class that featured Sara Puckett, Karoline Striplin and Brooklynn Miles. Puckett graduated after last season, and Striplin and Miles both transferred out. This makes Wynn the most tenured Tennessee player on the roster.
