Four-Star Tennessee Basketball Target Announces Upcoming Commitment Date

Four-star power forward Latrell Allmond is announcing his college commitment next Monday, Oct. 13, Rivals Joe Tipton first reported and Allmond confirmed to Rocky Top Insider Monday afternoon.

Allmond is down to a top group that includes Indiana, Maryland, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Virginia. The power forward took and official visit to Indiana over the summer and then Tennessee, Oklahoma State and Virginia this fall. Allmond is visiting Maryland this weekend.

Indiana, Oklahoma State and Tennessee appear to be the three strongest candidates to land Allmond though there’s some Maryland optimism ahead of his visit this weekend.

The 6-foot-8, 225-pound power forward ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 27 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Allmond also ranks as the No. 6 power forward and the No. 2 player in the state of Virginia in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Allmond officially visited Tennessee in mid September, the same weekend that the Vol football team hosted Georgia at Neyland Stadium. Tennessee made a major impression on Allmond during the visit, impressing him with the culture of the program.

“I feel like Tennessee left a really good impact on me this weekend,” Allmond told RTI following his visit. “It’s really dawning on me that there is a ton of culture there and a ton of pride. You can tell how much they really love each other.”

Allmond visited Tennessee the same weekend that four-star wing Ralph Scott officially visited the Vols. Scott became Tennessee basketball’s first commit in the 2026 cycle last week, choosing the Vols over Houston, Purdue and Texas A&M.

The Vols have hosted a number of other uncommitted prospects on visits so far this fall including five-star point guard Miles Sadler and four-star power forward Manny Green. Tennessee also has official visits scheduled with five-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr, five-star wing Bryson Howard, five-star power forward Christian Collins, four-star shooting guard Jasiah Jervis and four-star power forward Cody Peck.

Collins and Allmond are Tennessee’s top two power forward targets in the 2026 cycle while Green and Peck are two backup options.Tennessee’s 2026 recruiting class now ranks at No. 32 nationally and No. 8 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
