Tennessee improved to 5-1 on the season with a 34-31 win over Arkansas on Saturday afternoon in Neyland Stadium.
UT quarterback Joey Aguilar threw for 221 yards and one touchdown while running back DeSean Bishop led the team on the ground with 145 yards and one score. Tennessee put up three rushing touchdowns on the day, with the other two belonging to running back Peyton Lewis.
On the defensive front, Tennessee’s run defense continued to look susceptible at times, despite Arkansas’s impressive offense with QB Taylen Green. The Vols’ pass rush was able to make a difference, though, recording five total sacks as a team. Tennessee also forced four fumbles during the game and recovered three of them.
After the win, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and six UT players met with the media to give their reactions and answer questions. The Vols’ first players group included TE Miles Kitselman, LB Arion Carter, and RB Peyton Lewis, while the second group had QB Joey Aguilar, DL Joshua Josephs, and DL Jordan Ross.
