Lady Vols Basketball Offer Top-10 Recruit in Class of 2027, Sydney Savoury

Kim Caldwell and Lady Vols basketball have extended an offer to a top-10 recruit in the 2027 class, Sydney Savoury. The five-star ranks as the No. 8 player in the country, according to 247, and is the No. 2 shooting guard in the cycle.

Savoury is out of Belleville, Michigan, where she ranks as the top player from the state. In the initial Rivals rankings, she also came in as the No. 5 player in the class.

The Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year also holds offers from the likes of Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Oregon, USC, NC State, Iowa, Oklahoma, Georgia, Indiana, Baylor, Ole Miss, Clemson and others.

“Savoury has been on the national radar since she was in middle school,” 247 director of women’s basketball scouting Brandon Clay wrote. “Her game has gone up a level this past 12 months. Savoury is a lethal outside shooter who is also comfortable putting the basketball on the hardwood as well. This school season, Savoury won Gatorade POY in Michigan. She averaged 27.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.4 steals through 24 games. She also connected on 60.4 percent of her shots from the field.”

Tennessee doesn’t hold a commitment in the 2027 class to this point, but the Lady Vols are also getting in the good graces of the No. 1 recruit in the cycle, Kaleena Smith. She recently was on campus for an unofficial visit.

Caldwell also holds the commitment of the No. 2 player in the 2026 cycle, Oliviyah Edwards. The power forward committed to Tennessee over other top programs during her official visit the day of the Vol football team’s game against Georgia. The Lady Vols are also making pushes for other top players in the class in an attempt to parlay it with the five signees in the 2025 cycle that ranked second in the country.
