Tennessee football is in the process of hauling in possibly the best wide receiver class in the 2026 cycle on the recruiting trail. The Vols are now putting themselves in position to do the same in the 2027 class. This past week, UT was named a top 10 school for four-star receiver Osani Gayles.

Gayles will be deciding between Tennessee, Oregon, Washington, Alabama, Miami, Arizona State, USC, Florida State, Notre Dame and Stanford, according to Hayes Fawcett.

Gayles is considered the No. 42 player in the class on 247 composite. He is the No. 6 wide receiver in the class, and out of Bradenton, Florida, where he plays for IMG, he is the No. 5 player in the state.

“Gayles is an explosive wide out with a ton of versatility,” 247 national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins wrote. “He’s electric with the ball in his hands and is a true game breaker. He’s also a polished route runner with soft hands. He plays with a lot of shake and wiggle and is one of the better receivers after the catch. He can routinely make multiple defenders miss and shows the ability to move around and can play in any type of schemes…”

This comes just after Tennessee was named a finalist for the top-ranked wide receiver in the class. Five-star Monshun Sales listed the Vols in his updated group of 12 schools that he is considering.

In the 2026 class, Tennessee has the commitment of the top-ranked pass catcher. Tristen Keys, formerly an LSU commit, flipped to the Vols to join three other five-star prospects. One of those is Salesi Moa, a five-star athlete, who will likely play receiver to start and could work in on defense, as well.

Other receiver commits include four-star slot Tyreek King out of Knoxville and four-star Legend Bey, who plays quarterback at his high school in Texas.

UT currently holds two commitments in the class. One is legacy linebacker, JP Peace, grandson of Phillip Fulmer and son of Robert Peace. The other is cornerback Kamauri Whitfield. Both are three-star prospects.

Tennessee is also in the mix for top-10 recruit Cooper Witten. He is a linebacker prospect out of Texas and the son of former Vol star Jason Witten. Another name to keep a close eye on is five-star running back David Gabriel Georges out of Baylor School in Chattanooga.
