KNOXVILLE, TN – Rocky Top Insider is proud to announce a brand-new show on the RTI network, geared toward Hoop Heads and Tennessee Basketball fans around the country.
RTI’s Ryan Schumpert and Bob Baskerville are coming together to bring you ‘RTI Rim Runner’ during each week of the basketball season. Ryan and Bob will discuss all the latest news around the Tennessee Basketball program, including game previews, game breakdowns, roster developments, and recruiting news. That’s not all, though. Ryan and Bob will also be discussing the biggest and most prominent stories from around the Southeastern Conference and the collegiate basketball scene as a whole.
In addition to Ryan’s work on the RTI: Press Pass and RTI: Diamond Pass, as well as Bob’s work on The RTI Low-Down, this show will give both hosts a chance to dive deeper into the Tennessee Basketball program as they give fans different perspectives on local and national storylines.
“Bob and I quickly bonded over our love of college basketball when I began working at Rocky Top Insider years ago,” Schumpert said. “It has been a common topic of conversation for us nearly year-round on his radio show and in casual conversation. I’m excited to expand that conversation this season, talking Tennessee, SEC, and national college basketball on the RTI Rim Runner podcast.”
The debut episode of RTI Rim Runner will be released on Thursday, Oct. 30. Ryan and Bob will be discussing Tennessee’s exhibition game against Duke, preseason storylines, and even some news from around the SEC before the season tips off.
“This is without a doubt my favorite time of the sports year,” Baskerville said. “Although we’re in the heart of Football Time in Tennessee, I was born and raised in basketball country, so to me, there’s nothing better than when the college basketball season tips off, meaning we’ll have hoops in our lives until early April. I’m excited to be able to talk all about it – Vols, SEC, and college basketball from around the nation – and to be able to do it on Rocky Top Insider… and to do it with one of the great ball-knowers around these parts, our own Ryan Schumpert!”
Rocky Top Insider co-founder Bob Baskerville grew up in Speedway, Indiana. Baskerville’s versatility and track record for success has afforded him a number of high-profile executive assignments in the media space, and he’s accumulated over 30 years of experience in broadcast and cable television. His love for sports has also extended to his professional life, having worked previously for ESPN, Turner Sports, and NBC Sports on NFL Football, Boxing, College Basketball, Pro Bowling, and various other sports. More recently, Baskerville hosted a weekday talk radio show called ‘Under Review’ on Fox Sports Knoxville. When not breaking things down on The RTI Low-Down on Sunday nights, Baskerville can be heard on ‘The Drive’ weekdays from 3-6 p.m. ET on 105.7 FM/1340 AM.
Ryan Schumpert has revolutionized Rocky Top Insider’s reporting scene since joining the company in the summer of 2021. Schumpert works around the clock throughout the year, with boots on the ground covering Tennessee Football, Tennessee men’s basketball, and Tennessee Baseball. He’s one of the most active reporters in the Tennessee sports media landscape with countless games, both home and away, under his belt.
