The top-ranked wide receiver in the 2026 class is officially headed to Tennessee football. Tristen Keys, a five-star prospect, signed to Josh Heupel’s Vols program on Wednesday, the opening day of the early signing period.
Keys is considered the No. 10 overall prospect in the class and is the top-ranked receiver and player from Mississippi, according to 247. He plays for Hattiesburg High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Keys was initially committed to LSU. However, in August, after taking official visits, he flipped to Tennessee. He was also considering Auburn, Texas A&M and Miami.

“A potential game-wrecker on the outside that can attack all three levels and constantly challenge defenses,” 247’s Andrew Ivins wrote. “Pairs elite ball skills together with dynamic route running, superior athleticism and a long-levered frame. Creates separation with his suddenness and will break off defensive backs with snappy cuts. Attacks the football with confidence and has a rather high success rate in contested-catch situations, usually creating an advantage with his natural bounce. Competitive with the ball in his hands and can hit the throttle to capitalize on his catch-and-run opportunities.”
Ivins also compared his skill set to Dallas Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb. He was a dynamic receiver for Oklahoma in college and is one of the best at the position in the NFL already.
Keys is one of three five-star recruits that Tennessee has committed this cycle. Quarterback Faizon Brandon and offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda have both already signed, completing the elite trio.
For full signing day coverage, here’s everything you need to know. Josh Heupel will also speak with the media to give his thoughts on the class this afternoon.
