WATCH: Tennessee HC Josh Heupel, UT Players React to Music City Boss Loss Against Illinois

The Tennessee Volunteers closed their season with a loss on Tuesday night in Nashville, falling to Illinois by a score of 30-28 on a game-winning field goal in Nissan Stadium. Tennessee trailed for a good majority of the game, but fought to take the lead with less than five minutes remaining on the clock. The Fighting Illini wound up using a five-minute drive to get into field goal range and seal the victory with a 29-yard field goal for the win.

Tennessee officially finishes the season at 8-5, which is the most losses that the Vols have had under Josh Heupel since the 2021 season.

After the game, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and three players shared the stage as they answered questions from the media. The Vols’ player reps included QB Joey Aguilar, RB DeSean Bishop, and DB Jalen McMurray.
