Tennessee football’s 2025 season came to a close last week when the Vols fell to Illinois in the Music City Bowl. The Vols finished the year with an 8-5 (4-4 SEC) record with a rivalry win over Florida and little else to hang their hat on.
So how did Tennessee grade out according to PFF as a team and as individuals? Taking a look at the Vols’ regular season PFF grades here.

Has the “unraveling ” began?? We have seen this year happen before with previous coaches.
The Vols finished the last 7 games with three wins and four loses. In 2025, no wins over ranked teams. Crushed by Vandy after the they appeared to “give up”. The schedule next year is one of the toughest in the conference. An 8-4 regular record next year would be considered good if it included a win over Alabama or Georgia. I believe that most fans are disappointed about the way the Vols performed this season, not necessarily the record. The fans and ‘investors” are not as patient as the used to be in this day of NIL. If the 2026 season starts off as this one ended, Coach Heupel may not be the coach by the end of the season. It’s win now or be gone for high profile teams, such as UT. Check the college coaching landscape. At the start of the 2025 season, who would have thought that there would be so many firings before the end of the season. Has the unraveling began at UT? I hope not.
Go Vols!!
