When Tennessee football hosts LSU in 2026, it won’t just be Lane Kiffin returning to Knoxville. After Vols edge rusher transfer Jordan Ross made his way to join the Tigers, UT center transfer William Satterwhite decided to transfer to LSU, as well, according to On3.

The matchup between Tennessee and LSU is scheduled for Nov. 21, 2026. It will be the penultimate game of the regular season in Kiffin’s first season in Baton Rouge. Kiffin, of course, was the UT head coach for just one season before an unpopular exit in 2009.

Satterwhite will have three years of eligibility with LSU. Even if he doesn’t win the starting center role with the Tigers, he’s a young piece that could develop into a bigger role.

Satterwhite was in a center competition with Sam Pendleton ahead of the season, but lost to the incoming Notre Dame transfer. He would only see the field in a reserve role after a rare injury or late in blowouts.

Satterwhite played in eight games this past season, none of which were starts. He ended the year with a PFF grade of 48.9 over the course of 137 snaps.

The reserve center got SEC action against Arkansas, Alabama, Kentucky and Florida. The most snaps between that quartet of games were 19 against the Razorbacks, in which he had a grade of 58.0.

Satterwhite was a four-star recruit on 247, Rivals and ESPN out of Barberton, Ohio. He went to Archbishop Hoban High School, the same school that former Vols defensive lineman Latroy Lewis went to.

Tennessee is likely to return Pendleton as the starting center, but the spot behind him is now up for grabs. The most likely option is that Nic Moore, a second-year and in-state player, would take over the role with Satterwhite and Max Anderson headed to the portal.
