Tennessee Basketball legend Ron Slay turned the SEC Network studios into his own personal cheering section during Tuesday night’s roller coaster of a win over Texas A&M. Slay embodied the emotions of every Tennessee fan watching the game as he cheered and willed his former team to victory, surrounded by his colleagues on the SEC Now wrap-up show.
From frustrating turnovers that’ll get any fan to raise the pitch of their voice by an octave, to fist-pumping and jumping as he unlocked the Boom Boom Room, Slay was as wrapped up as one could be during the final moments of the Vols’ double-overtime win.
“The emotions that I go thru lol,” Slay posted to X. “Sooooo proud of The Vols answering the bell. Gotta continue to build with one another but a lot of guys grew up in my opinion in this game. Salute to the freshmen!! Frontcourt came with BOOM BOOM ROOM action and dominated! Wins are hard to come by, take them and stack them!! #LockTheDoor #GoVols #ThatsAllWeKnow”
