Tennessee football is continuing to jockey for position among the top recruits in the 2027 class. On Sunday, this included making the top schools list for one of the highest-ranked offensive linemen in the cycle.
Terrance Smith, a four-star interior lineman, listed the Vols, LSU, Rutgers, Ohio State, Georgia, Florida and Auburn as his top seven. This shaved off Penn State, Notre Dame, Missouri, Alabama, South Carolina, Kentucky, Oregon, NC State and Syracuse from his previous list.
Smith is a four-star recruit and considered the No. 238 player in the class, according to 247 Composite. He is the No. 12-ranked interior offensive lineman and No. 9 player from Pennsylvania. Smith plays for Lansdale Catholic in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

Tennessee football offered Smith on May 14, 2025, during a visit to Knoxville. He did not take any visits to UT this past season, though. With the Vols’ placement in his top schools list, getting him to Neyland Stadium for a game day visit may be a priority in 2026.
His primary recruiter has been Glen Elarbee, UT’s offensive line coach.
Tennessee already holds four commitments in the 2027 class. This includes four-star tackle Princeton Uwaifo, four-star defensive lineman Kadin Fife, three-star linebacker JP Peace and three-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield. The class is still young, though, and plenty more commitments are expected to trickle in over the next year.
The Vols are coming off an extremely strong 2026 class, as well. Tennessee landed 29 commitments in the class, with 27 signed in the early signing period and two local prospects committing last week. This was headlined by a trio of five-star prospects, quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver TK Keys and offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda. The group ranks fifth in the country on 247.
