Tennessee baseball starts a new era Friday afternoon when the 2026 season begins under first year head coach Josh Elander. Time will tell whether the Vols look different on the field then they did under Tony Vitello, but they’ll be dressed slightly different this season.
Vol baseball shared the newest, and smallest alteration, Wednesday afternoon. Tennessee is adding names to the back of its white and orange uniforms. Its cream, grey and black uniforms still will not have names on the backs of the uniforms.

When college teams have names on the back of jerseys, they usually use a name plate to place them. Tennessee’s are individually sewed on, giving them a bit higher quality. The Vols were likely able to do that because this is their last season with Nike uniforms.

That’s the ironic part with Tennessee baseball’s uniform changes this season. The Vols will have all new uniforms again next season when they officially move to Adidas.
Tennessee’s white uniforms are the exact same as the ones they debut last season. They’re plain white with a power T on the left side of the chest with two stripes down the middle. The orange uniform has a small change. They are a thinner material that does not have buttons and is instead just a normal shirt. The collar is slightly different with the orange uniforms but it still has the “Vols” script across the chest.
The Vols new grey uniforms that are lighter than the Smokey Grey and has the “Vols” script across the chest instead of the block “Tennessee.” The new Sunday cream uniforms made their debut last season but the Vols only wore them in a pair of midweek games. Tennessee will wear the cream uniforms with block “Tennessee” across the chest on home Sundays this season.
