After a 43-point loss to South Carolina, Lady Vols basketball is resetting for its game against Missouri on Thursday. Tennessee will be looking to get back in the win column, while the Tigers are hoping to turn around a season that has had its fair share of struggles.
Ahead of the game, Lady Vols head coach Kim Caldwell met with the media to give her thoughts. She was asked about the response from the loss to South Carolina, where her team is at and more.
The game between Tennessee and Missouri will have some off-the-court implications at play, as well. The Tigers are now coached by former Lady Vols coach and champion player Kellie Harper. This will mark her first return as a coach to Knoxville since being fired.
“For me, I’m just doing my job,” Harper said. “This is about our players. It really is. It’s about our team, and we’re going over to play a game. I know there’s going to be so many people wanting to make it about me, and I get that, but it really isn’t. It’s about the game. We’ve got to do our best to have our players prepared. The challenges that we have on Thursday are enormous. They’re big, they’re athletic. But we know we’ll fight and we’ll play hard.”
Tip-off between the Lady Vols and Missouri is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET and will air on SECN+.
