Save the pink and red holiday colors for another day and trade them in for orange and black apparel this weekend. Tennessee Basketball will break out its Dark Mode uniforms for its Valentine’s Day SEC matchup against LSU on Saturday evening.
This will be the second time that Tennessee has worn its Dark Mode uniforms this season, with the first coming in a road loss at Syracuse in early December. It will, however, be the first time that fans will get to see the Dark Mode uniforms in action in the Food City Center this season.
Tennessee originally debuted the Dark Mode uniforms in a December basketball game against Syracuse in 2024. The Vols dominated the Orange in that game, winning by a score of 96-70 in front of its home fans. Tennessee guard Chaz Lanier put up a game-high 26 points in the contest, with Zakai Zeigler scoring 14 and Jordan Gainey scoring 12.

Last week, Tennessee Athletics announced that the LSU game has officially been sold out with more than 21,000 fans expected to be in the Food City Center on a Saturday night. This is the sixth time that Tennessee Basketball has sold out a game this year, with five contests taking place in the regular season and one in the preseason.
Tennessee began the year by selling out a preseason exhibition game against Duke during the football season in late October. The Vols have since sold out regular-season matchups against Louisville (Dec. 16), Kentucky (Jan. 17), and Auburn (Jan. 31), and have already announced a sellout for the Alabama game on Feb. 28 in Knoxville. Depending on how each team’s season plays out, there’s also a good chance that the Vols’ home game against Vanderbilt on Mar. 7 will also be sold out. Tennessee says that only a limited number of tickets remain for that game.
After bouncing back from the Kentucky loss with a win over Mississippi State on Wednesday night, Tennessee is now 17-7 and 7-4 in SEC play on the season. The Vols sit in fourth place in the SEC and are two games behind conference-leader Florida in the standings.
Tennessee will host LSU (14-10) at 6:00 p.m. ET on Saturday night in the Food City Center and has an 87.3% chance to win, according to ESPN Analytics. Stay tuned to Rocky Top Insider for live, on-site coverage of the game this weekend.
