Tennessee Baseball to Play Saturday Doubleheader Against Nicholls

Due to potential inclement weather Sunday, Tennessee baseball will finish its season-opening weekend series against Nicholls with a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. ET.

Game three will start approximately 45 minutes after the completion of game two. Both games will be streamed on SEC Network +.

The Vols run-ruled the Colonels 10-0 in eight innings Friday to pick up the season and series-opening win.

Tegan Kuhns turned in an above-average start in the win, setting career highs in innings pitched (6.2), strikeouts (8) and total pitches (86).

Offensively, Stone Lawless, Henry Ford, Blaine Brown and Reese Chapman all tallied two hits. Chapman’s pair brought in two runs, tying Lawless, Ford and Antigua for the team lead in RBI.

Ford’s two-run home run marked Tennessee’s first of the season. In the eighth inning, pinch-hitter Tyler Myatt and Lawless joined Ford by tallying a solo home run each. Lawless’ was Tennessee’s 10th run, giving the Vols enough for a 10-0 run-rule victory.

Tennessee will aim to clinch the series in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader before aiming to sweep the season-opening series in game three.

Rutgers sophomore transfer RHP Landon Mack will start game two. Senior Virginia transfer LHP Evan Blanco will start game three.
