Tennessee Basketball earned its third straight win with an 89-66 victory over Oklahoma on Wednesday night in Knoxville. The Vols collected a big lead throughout the first 26 minutes of the game, but the Sooners made a few big runs in the second half to close the gap a bit. Tennessee put its foot on the gas, though, finishing the game on a 21-4 run and cruising to victory.

Tennessee freshman wing Nate Ament dropped a career-high 29 points on the night, which is the third time that he’s tallied that scoring number this season. Ament once again looked dominant as he picked apart the defense and continued to find his shot. But with JP Estrella out with an injury on Wednesday night, Tennessee’s trio of big men stepped up in a big way. The three combined for 37 points as Felix Okpara scored 18, DeWayne Brown scored 13, and Jaylen Carey scored seven in Tennessee’s win.

The final notable statistic of the game came from Ja’Kobi Gillespie, who racked up eight steals against the Sooners. Gillespie’s eight steals set a new single-game program record.
