Tennessee softball defended its No. 1 ranking this past weekend in Birmingham, winning in dominant fashion in all four of its appearances. Now, the Lady Vols turn the page to the upcoming home debut during the Tennessee Invitational this weekend.
During the event, UT will host the likes of Appalachian State, Penn State and North Carolina Central. This will be the first time this season that Tennessee is playing at home, with all 14 of its prior wins coming at neutral sites or on the road.
Ahead of the weekend, Lady Vols head coach Karen Weekly met with the media. She was asked about Karlyn Pickens, how she grades this past weekend, the growth of the sport and more.
Along with Weekly, UT star pitcher Karlyn Pickens and infielder Ella Dodge also fielded questions.
The first game of the weekend will be against Appalachian State on Friday afternoon. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. ET and will air on SECN+. That same night, Tennessee will face Penn State at 5:30 p.m. ET on SECN+.
