Sunday’s clash with fifth-ranked Vanderbilt is more than just a tough matchup for Lady Vols basketball. It also marks Senior Day, with five players going through festivities and being honored before the game.
Those five Tennessee players are Janiah Barker, Zee Spearman, Nya Robertson, Jersey Wolfenbarger and Kaiya Wynn. At the end of the first quarter, graduate assistant Mashayla Cecil, manager Timothy Galloway and sports medicine student Kendra Collins will also be honored.
Last season, the Lady Vols held Senior Day after the game. However, Tennessee suffered a loss to Georgia, forcing the players to quickly wipe away the emotions of the loss as best as possible to recognize the senior class. This year, Kim Caldwell is moving it back up to before the game.
Tip-off with the Commodores is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET in Knoxville. The game will air on ESPN as the Lady Vols look to snap a five-game losing skid.
