Tennessee Basketball finished the regular season at 21-10 and 11-7 in regular-season play after falling to in-state rival Vanderbilt by a score of 86-82 on Saturday afternoon in Knoxville. The Commodores got off to a 15-2 start to begin the game and Tennessee struggled to climb out of the hole it got itself in.
The Vols put together a better effort and performance in the second half, scoring 60 points compared to just 22 in the first half. But Vanderbilt did enough to keep the Vols’ comeback at bay and get to the finish line with the lead. Tennessee guard Amari Evans scored a career-high 24 points while freshman Nate Ament did not play for a second straight contest as he nurses an injury.
