Selection Sunday is officially here. After months of games, today we get a NCAA Tournament bracket with Rick Barnes’ Vols set to participate in the Big Dance for the eighth straight time. With the selection show nearing, where does Tennessee land in the latest bracketology updates?

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has Tennessee in a similar place he did Saturday— as a six-seed in the South Region taking on 11-seed VCU in Greeneville, South Carolina in the opening round of the tournament. If Tennessee gets past the Rams, they would face the winner of three-seed Purdue and 14-seed Troy.

Other top seeds in the South Region include one-seed Florida, two-seed Houston, four-seed Gonzaga and five-seed Texas Tech.

*Lunardi’s Sunday afternoon update has Tennessee as a six-seed in Philadelphia facing the winner of 11-seed Santa Clara and 11-seed Miami (Ohio) in the first round. The Round of 32 matchup would be against either three-seed Virginia or 14-seed Tennessee State

CBS Sports latest bracketology update has moved Tennessee down to a six-seed in the East Region with a first round matchup against the winner of 11-seed Santa Clara and 11-seed SMU. With a first round win, the Vols would face the winner of three-seed Michigan State and 14-seed North Dakota State.

The Athletic’s Joe Rexrode has not changed his projection for Tennessee since Saturday, pegging the Vols’ as a six-seed in the West Region. Tennessee would face 11-seed NC State in the first round of the tournament in Portland before facing either three-seed Gonzaga or 14-seed Idaho in the Round of 32.

Other top teams in the West Region include one-seed Arizona, two-seed Michigan State, four-seed Alabama and five-seed Wisconsin.

What does Tennessee’s resume look like entering the NCAA Tournament? The Vols boast a 22-11 (11-7 SEC) record. Tennessee is 6-10 in Quad 1 games, 6-1 in Quad 2 games, 3-0 in Quad 3 games and 7-0 in Quad 4 games.
Tennessee ranks No. 19 in the NET Rankings but just No. 24 in Wins Above Bubble (WAB) a new popular metric for NCAA Tournament seeding. The Vols 4.46 WAB indicates that they have 4.46 more wins than a bubble team would have against their same schedule.

The Vols best wins of the season came against Houston on a neutral floor, on the road at Vanderbilt and Alabama and then at home against Louisville.
